Planning and Organizing Project Life Online
I use a free progam called Trello to organize my work, hobbies, and home life. I just started using it to organize Becky Higgin’s Project Life for my Weekly Pages. Trello is a collaboration tool that organizes your projects into boards. Each board contains cards. My boards include projects, housework, homeschool, blogs, scrapbooking, and now my Project Life Album. Overview:
- BOARDS are made up of multiple LISTS
- Each lists contains CARDS
- Cards move from list to list to indicate progression.
- Cards can be flipped over to use the back to make checklist, add web sites or images
Using Trello to Plan Project Life
Here is my Project Life Board with four of my LISTS showing. Since I am a designer I have lists you may not need. Focus on the first two lists: 1. Weeks Working and 2. Weeks Done.
Let’s zoom in for a better look. Under Weeks Working are my CARDS. You can click on each card to add checklists, images, and more. When I complete a page I grag it over to the Weeks Done list and add the image of the completed page.
Here is the back of the card. I add checklist of photos or journaling I plan on including in my page. I check them off as added.
You can add as many lists and cards as you need. You may want to add a board for non PL scrapbooking such as a Birthday Album with cards for each page in the album. You may want to add Boards for to organize non scrapbook items like homeschool, housework, Bible study. Makes a super Prayer List where you can drag and drop Prayer Request cards into the Prayers Answered list!
Trello Phone App
Yes, there is an app for Trello. You can plan on your phone and everything you do is synced and saved instantly to Trello.com. Use the web site to stay organized while you’re at your desk, and the app to stay up to date while you’re out and about.
More About Trello
More options:
- Share
- Color Code Labels
- Sort by Date
- Read Updates on Trello Development Board
Sharing. You may not need the sharing for Project Life but its great for a Housework Board. My Housework Board includes the following Lists:
- To Do
- Done
- Menu Plan
- Declutter
- Honey Do
I share the Honey Do list with my hubby. He can see what I need him to do my logging in to his Trello account and I don’t have to nag him.
What do think? Let me know in the comment if you like the idea.
Pocket Journal Pages in My Etsy Shop

Thanks for sharing this. I can’t wait to take a better look later today. I wish the program came with your scrapbooking talent though, mine won’t be nearly as pretty as yours!
This is AWESOME! I love this. I can see it being useful for so much in my life. Paper doesn’t work for me anymore in many aspects of my life… get’s lost way too easily, or piled, or shuffled, or stuffed. But this is something that I can use on my computer or on my phone (and my iPad). Yeah!! Thanks for sharing!!!
