Pegboard Organization: Not Just for the Garage

A few weeks ago I began my Laundry Room Tackle. I asked you all what I should do with my tools and a few of you suggested a pegboard. I went to Lowes to buy a pegboard with plans of painting it white. Guess what I found! A white plastic pegboard for $14.00.

I hung my tools on the peg board. No need to paint it and it’s much sturdier than a regular pegboard. The laundry room isn’t quite as pretty but it sure is handy. Not just hammers and screwdrivers but scissors, tape, and more. No more rummaging through drawers. I love this solution.

While looking for pegboard accessories I found these adorable pods from Ikea at PoppyTalk’s blog.

The pegboard is so versatile – imagine the possibilities: children’s rooms, office, closets, sewing and crafts, etc. Here are some photos from the Hook Store:

Hmmmm… ding, ding, ding – having a light bulb moment! My 10 year old son has a ton of stuffed animals that he’s not quite ready to get rid of… I’m thinking I could use a strip of pegboard and attach them to it… hmmmm. Thanks for the great pictures! Your laundry room looks fantastic!

  15. Thanks for posting this idea! I am going to borrow a bit of it for Lego storage I hope!

  16. This is fabulous. I’m thinking that pegboard in my laundry/pantry/utility room could eliminate my kitchen junk drawer. Of course that may be asking for miracles.

Thanks for the tip! I really need a way to organize my stamping/papercraft supplies. This just might be the ticket!

Thank for the details! I have been looking for a plastic pegboard at Lowes, but can’t find it. Nobody seems to carry these in stock and I like to touch/feel what I buy first… Would you have a Lowes item number so I can find it?

    thank you so much,

Hmmm great idea! Another helpful item for me was buying a very large fishing tackle box for my sewing supplies. All kinds of spaces to fit everything in and is adjustable and more inexpensive than another ‘sewing box’.

do you have the lowes part number for the plastic pegboard ….—-thanks scott

  22. Finish off the sides and sew a hem across the blanket to finish it off. It is far from a tough process, however if you’ve little or no stitching experience it could be better to basically purchase a new fleece blanket.

  23. Stan Horst says:

Great job on making the pegboard look attractive. I did not know you could purchase it in white, and by adding the right components, it really does look like it belongs indoors in the laundry room, the craft room, or even the homeschool room.
