Cupcakes in a Jar
I was viewing a scrapbook tutorial on making stars at Scrapper Guide (I love her tutorials) She created an embellishment in the tutorial and showed the sample. My interest quickly moved from scrapbooking to cupcakes.

What a cute idea. Bake the cupcakes in a mason jar, cool, frost, and decorate.
These are from Cupcake Fabulous

Here is a more elaborate recipe.

It is so funny that you posted this because I’ve been tossing around the idea of doing brownies in a jar as a little “business” for my kids this fall – maybe the cake in a jar will be added to our list!
wow, I wrote that tip and that’s my layout you posted! How cool that it inspired you to learn about cakes in jars, it never occurred to me that anyone would even LOOK at the content of the layout, LOL! These have become THE teacher gift, they all ask if they’re getting cupcakes again every year.
Thanks for the shoutout, we work hard on those tips and are really happy you enjoy them!
I do red velvet cake in 1/2 pint jars and then cool them. I will take a knife around the edge of the cup cake to pull it away from the sides. Sometimes I freeze them and then shake the jar so the cake will slide out on a plate when served. Sometimes I will serve it in the jar for novelty. I add a shabby chic rose made from the Heavenly Frosting and then I put a jar lid and ring on it and pop them into the freezer. I sever them frozen and they are delightful!
I have a recipe here:
