5 Steps to Be an Organized and Inspired Scrapbooker
I found this terrific article “5 Steps to Becoming Organized and Inspired Scrapbooker” by Wendy Smedley and Aby Garve at Scrap Simple Magazine site. It outlines five simple steps to becoming an organized and inspired scrapbooker.
Organizing means you won’t waste valuable time digging through stacks (or computer files) of photos and boxes of letter stickers, searching for the perfect pieces for your next layout.
I love how this article addresses we all think differently and need to organize based on how we “view” our supplies. ie. one persona will see a paper as blue, another as polka dot, another as a winter theme inspiration.
We need to recognize we all have different needs (like homeschool approaches). Understanding your storage needs may be different from your friends.
The article spans 6 beautifully laid out pages in my favorite colors.

It is therapeutic for me. It helps me get my creative side out, is a stress reliever, and also lets me work on my fine motor skills for my bad hand.
I don’t organize my stickers other than to put them in a binder in page protectors, because to me half the fun of doing a layout is finding what works. I don’t worry about how many layouts I get done. I enjoy the process and what is the final product.
And ultimately it will be a way to record family history, because so much of my own is unknown, I want my kids to know what I find out through research.

Why do I scrapbook? I scrap to place my memories, even my heart on paper for my children. I have six, 23,21,17, 5,2,5months. The last three are our post reversal babies and I want them to know how precious they are to me and to be able to share that with their children when I am gone. I want my older children to be able to hold onto the memories of their fun childhood and share the love and memories…
