Cranberry Relish
The first time I made this the boys thought it was strawberry jam. It is soooo good on Thanksgiving and super on the side with turkey sandwiches.
Ingredents
- 1 package fresh cranberries (12 ounces)
- 3/4 cup sugar or Steviaa
- 1 orange, peeled, tough membrane removed, chopped
- 1 Granny Smith Apple chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional, this makes it Cranberry Chutney)
Instructions:
Juice the orange, set aside the juice. Remove the orange membrane, dice it and add to cup of water bring to boil in a large saucepan. Allow to simmer for 15 minutes. Drain the water.
Add all other ingredients and the orange juice to orange in sauscepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium. Cook it for three minutes and let it cool for a few minutes before placing it to the refrigirator for an hour.
Happy Thanksgiving!
