Last month, our church Fair Haven Baptist had Boomerang Express VBS.
We hopped on board the Boomerang Express and took a train ride across the Land Down Under discovering the vastness of God’s love, and learned that no matter where we go or what we do in life—it all comes back to Jesus.
The church was decorated with the Australian Outback theme. Kangaroos, boomerangs, and Kolas were everywhere.
We met daily in the sanctuary in front of the Outback Express Train.
I taught third grade with two sweet ladies. We decorated the room with an sheep farm and railroad theme. The door to the class room was a railroad ticket counter with a railroad track coming into the room.
The story area was the porch of our sheep ranch.

Each day of VBS we read stories of Peter’s life to the children. We put together a timeline of highlights from Peter’s life for our classroom wall to help the children get a good overview.
Balloon sheep are lots of fun.
Everyday we had devotions, games, crafts, snacks, outdoor play, music,
FUN, FUN, and more FUN!

My Little Accident
Even though I am a known klutz, I volunteered to make the sheep knowing I would need to used an electrical hot knife for cutting the Styrofoam. Can you say RED FLAG!
I had a tumble and used my hand to catch myself–my hand landed on the hot gun. I received a three inch 2nd degree burns on my hand, that of course go infected and called for a dr appointment. I am branded for life with this VBS burn scar (and its not until next years that the VBS theme is cowboys).
I was told no sharp objects or electrical equipment for me next year.
