Steam Cleaning Frenzy

The two dirtiest, yuckiest, stained places in my house were my stove and refrigerator. When we bought this house, the top of the stove and ice/water area on the refrigerator were terribly stained.  I have scrubbed  each many, many  times with every natural cleaner, chemical cleaner you can imagine. I could not get either clean.

I even had my 15 year old football player son scrub with his powerful elbow grease- yucky stains remained. Its been frustrating.

This week, I bought a Bissell Steam Shot and it works for me! Steam really cleans!

It took the Steam Shot and quite a bit of scrubbing but this time I got results. Just look at the before and after photos. I am embarrassed to show the before photos but had to share how great this worked.

This is the first time I have felt like my kitchen is clean since I moved into this house. The stove is right in the middle of the kitchen and the horrible stains drove me nuts.

I used the Steam Shot to loosen the hard water stains and then scrubbed with a Brillo pad then,  a Magic Eraser. All three worked. The Steam Shot did the trick becasue the previous scrubbings alone did almost nothing.

The neatest thing is the steam gets into tiny crevices almost impossible to get to another way. Here is the Bissell Steam Shot  in action:

This is one appliance I’m glad I invested in. Its great on stainless steel. And what a great spring cleaning motivator.

I love my steam cleaner! It’s fantastic for grout around the shower/tub and around the sink, and also around the bottom of the toilet where it connects to the floor.

  3. Oh man! I just read about a steam cleaner in someone else’s WFMW a week or two ago. I totally need one!

Just got a new McCulloch 1275 Steam Cleaner, it arrived in Canada from the States in 3 days. The one thing it is lacking is really good instructions. What I want to know, is there certain things you shouldn’t clean ei plastics,
blinds, and have you ever melted anything?

  10. steam cleaners can clean lots of dirty clothes in a very short period of time that is why i always prefer to use them “-,
