Why I Love My Rocket Grill
My daughter Victoria convinced me to buy a Sunbeam Rocket Grill. I love it and I use it almost daily. We love paninis (grilled sandwiches).
We now have a standard Reuben night–grilled pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, thousand Island dressing on Rye with cups of tomato soup and croutons. YUM! What’s not to love about a quick and easy soup and sandwich dinner night.
What I like About the Rocket Grill
![]()
- Grilled Sandwiches – There is just no comparing a cold and grilled sandwich. I’ve been experimenting with meats and cheeses –feta, cheddar, mozzarella, and more. I’ll post recipes soon.
- Fast: Grill fresh or frozen meats in 3 to 12 minutes! You don’t even have to wait for your food to thaw out before cooking!
- Healthy – Put chicken, hamburger or steak in the parchment pouch, which retains moisture as it cooks while channeling fat away from the food to a separate reservoir in the pouch. Cuts the fat content by as much as a third.
- No Clean Up – The food never touches the grill. You just toss the pouch in the garbage once you’ve removed your food (or if there is no grease, save it to use again )

You Can Reuse Food Parchment Pouches
When I first got the grill I was concerned about spending money on the Parchment paper bags but I quickly learned you can reuse the bags. I have reused the same bag grilling cheese sandwiches 7 times. However if you grill steak, chicken or hamburger there is too much grease to reuse the pouches.

[...] Why I Love My Rocket Grill [...]
Hi, I just bought my grill and am not having very good luck with it. I placed fleshy chicken breasts in it twice and the bottom is always raw, even at more time than is suggested. What does cook is wonderful, but how do I get the bottom of the breast to cook?
I just got mine and only used it once for two steaks, but i think that the steaks might have been too large…I think it might just be a matter of placement….I put two frozen steaks in at once and didn’t have much room to move them around but I know I read to try to keep the food as close to the middle of the bag as you can…I dunno…have you had any luck yet? Have any good recipes?
Ive had that problem too Marie… make sure the meat stays above the glue spots on the pouch.. if it falls into the juice channels, it will be below the grill plates
