I love the idea of using a lone sock as a swifter cover. I never would of thought of that. My friend and I have a laundry service so we know all to well about the sock bandit. At my home I gave up trying to match all the different socks and did what you suggested. I went to the store and bought bulk quanities of the same socks. I fill a few stray socks with baking soda and tie it off with a pretty ribbon. We leave them by the door and stick them in our shoes. They soak up any moisture and leave them deoderized.
