Why Did Media Ignore Nashville Flood?

I was in Nashville the week of the catastrophic Nashville Flood but my friends and family weren’t aware there was a problem. Why? Because most Media Ignored it.

The  down-pouring rain flooded the Nashville lifting the Cumberland River 13 feet above flood stage, causing an estimated $1 billion in damage, and killing more than 30 people.

It could wind up being one of the most expensive non-hurricane natural disasters in U.S. history. Yet our president never mentioned it. When Katrina struck New Orleans liberal Democrats slandered the Bush for not reacting sooner.

This video gives a small sampling of the destruction.

So, Why Did the Media Ignore Nashville Flood? Some say Obama’s administration aren’t interested because the way the people of Nashville have handled this disaster reflects the American spirit of self-sufficiency.

Tom Lehner gives an interesting answer to this question:

Tennessee is not on the spot of the World media and therefore not of tactical interest to Obama’s radical Socialist Agenda…American media is all corrupted by Obama and follows like sheep in his direction, and Obama sure knew how to switch the focus towards his “Gulf-Management” and away from the hard working southerners.

What do you think? Why Did the Media Ignore Nashville Flood?
