Things I Must Tell The Children

Whether you homeschool or not, all our lives are fast-paced and it’s so easy to leave out important things.

We remember to give our children their vitamins, buy them sneakers, teach them history lessons, make them practice math, set bedtimes, remind them to brush their teeth and hair, and mind their manners—but do we forget the most important thing?

This must-see video from the 70s by Bill & Gloria Gaither (parent testimony and song) is appropriate for today.

Proverbs 22:6 says Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

We teach our children how much God loves them by example—fulfilling the greatest commands of loving God and loving others. And by reading the stories from God’s Word, teaching them to respect God and learn His ways.

Put the most important thing first each day—read God’s Word to your children. Purpose not to teach any other subject until you have spent time asking God for His direction, and spent time in His Word.
