Spiritual Sunday: Do Not Be Anxious

The Super Simple Spiritual Sunday Meme is simply a list of encouraging links I have enjoyed this week.
I have been doing a word study on anxious because I recently had an anxiety attack (proving you should never put me on a pedestal. I battle sin daily.)
Sometimes, God allows us to go though painful circumstances. This was my week. Satan knows my greatest vulnerability and pushed all the right buttons. I fell hook, line and sinker. I quickly discovered a realistic knowledge of my limitations and my need for God every second of every day.
I learned my peace of mind does not depend on me changing the past, solving all problems, righting all wrongs, or removing all my imperfections Ecc 8:16-17. The Holy Spirit, our Comforter, is the One to bring us this peace from God. Peace and confidence come through prayer Phil 4:6-7 and from trusting in God. Psa 23:1-6. When we face such trials God’s intent is not to leave us faithless, but to leave us full of faith.
God wants us to encourage one another to keep us from sin (Heb 3:12-13). God called each of us–He chose me–He chose you–Imagine, he looked all over the earth and chose us!
You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its remotest parts And said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and not rejected you. (Isaiah 41: 9)
He tells us not to look anxiously at our circumstances but to rely on Him. God is aware of the cares of this world, and that we need help dealing with them. He promises to strengthen us.
Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41: 9-10)

Thankyou for sharing your weaknesses as well as your strengths, and the way the Lord sees you through them. I too struggle with anxiety. Using the HOWTA and unit studies is a real test for me in this area, as I’m not sure how the ’state’ will respond at our inspection next year. But I know that the Lord said to do it, and I have to trust Him! Thankyou for your post, I’m grateful that the Lord chose you! I’ll check out those links throughout the week. I linked up my SSSS from last week - hope that’s OK.
God bless you my dear friend, as you seek His face.
Robin, once again, you hit the nail on the head for an issue that is very real in our lives right now.
Satan has a hey day with believers and anxiety, doesn’t he? My husband is struggling so very much in trusting God to supply ALL our needs-especially when he has gotten so good at trying to micro-manage everything lately, thinking God is not concerned about all the day-to-day stuff on our farm.
Well, I just have to keep praying, and not being anxious along with him-kind of hard when he talks about selling the farm instead of changing things to better deal with stress-but we will take one day at a time-I am printing this out for him to peruse at his leisure some night when he is not sleeping due to more anxious thoughts.
Blessings
Chris
