To truly understand Christianity, one must understand its Jewish roots. Christians are adopted Jews, grafted into the vine of Israel. One of the stupidest arguments I've heard is, "but Jesus wasn't a Christian." Duh... I then, desiring to know what -besides the salvation message -I had been "mis-taught", signed up for classes at a local Bible College. I was still attending a Catholic Church. I received a general Bible degree at the end of three years. I then continued over the years to pursue the traditional Evangelical take on the Scriptures through BSF, etc. Therefore, this information about the Hebrew Roots of our faith and what has been lost was very, very welcome to me. I am painfully aware of the way the Greek way has corrupted the Lord's instructions for living. I experience in my own life, and as I observe, read and speak with others around me, the negative consequences of this perversion on our families, the church, and the world that we impact. I hope to be part of God's solution, rather than continuing to live helplessly in the problem. I am quite certain that the Lord is preparing me to reach out to boys with same-sex-attraction and homosexual men and lesbian women who long to be free. My hope is to also be a vessel to bring quick relief to others who have been traumatized by life in sexual or other areas. The Hebrew Roots has brought key insights that have already helped me to prepare for what the Lord has for me. I have one question?? I have observed that you and John Parsons (Hebrew4Christians website, both use the New English Version of the Bible. What is the draw to that one? I checked out the NEB website, and found no clues to why this seems to be the translation of preference.
