My Teaching Supply Center & Printable Labels
Do you know where your index cards are? Can you grab a scissors quickly, or does it take ten minutes rummaging in drawers? While you are rummaging though the drawers for the scissors what are your children doing? School work? Probably not. In my house if I have to look for supplies by the time I get back to the teaching table the children have scattered and it will take me another ten minutes to get their minds back on school work.
Being organized can really reduce your planning and teaching time. When you know where everything is you don’t waste precious time looking for a pencil or marker.
I want to encourage you take a hour or so to organize. Purchase small plastic baskets at the dollar store to store general student supplies. In these baskets, place pencils, glue, scissors, rulers, stencils, tape and erasers.
My boys each have 12 drawers using the Workbox System and now mom has 12 Teacher Supply drawers!

I was so excited to organize my teaching supplies. The scrapbook storage drawers I was using were bursting at the seams and the the drawers would stick and go off the tracks.
I made labels for the drawers. Click the image to download them.
These drawers are perfect for all my supplies. It sits in easy reach right next to our dining room table. Being organized can really reduce your planning and teaching time!

Having the correct tools for the job makes for a stress-free day.
If you like the labels let me know and I’ll keep sharing.

This is really awesome! I wish I had the extra space to set up a system like this, especially since I have an IKEA right near me. I’m going to have to think this through and figure out how to get it squeezed in here somehow.:-) I’m downloading the labels just in case. Hooray for your dad for helping out!!
That’s just a thing of beauty, isn’t it? I’m inspired!

I checked out the IKEA site and can’t find the shelves you have pictured. Do you know the name of them or if they still make them? Thanks!
I looked around the Ikea site and here is the system she used:
TROFAST

She has the shallow bins so you can fit more in.
WOW!! I love your organization!!!
I LOVE this system. I want to order them and I am wondering what dimensions the bins are that you have found success with and which size shelving frame you chose. I don’t have an IKEA nearby anymore and would need to order online or have someone pick them up for us so it would be helpful to know what you have used! Thanks!
Thanks so much for your pictures and downloads! Thank you for being so helpful!
Ms. Robin,
Can an additional photo be posted showing the full unit?
Sandra
I don’t think they make the tall Trofast one anymore. But here is the frame

We don’t have an Ikea close by, so I had my husband make a Trofast system for me… using $1.00 dishpans from WalMart. They come in white, black and red, sometimes other colors, and have handles on either side. They are a bit deeper as well. I just measured everything out and basically you have an open box and instead of grooves, he used molding. I will have to take a photo and post.
Ok, gotta make a trip to ikea
Thanks for sharing Robin!!
God bless you

They are part of the the Trofast system. Childrens/Youth! They are wonderful. I use them to sort and organize all of our familys toys and games as well.
Thank you so much for posting this! I’m going to be near an Ikea store in the next few hours and I may very well be on my way to finally getting organized. Thank you so much!
This is a wonderful idea! I will be trying this for our supplies. I’m new to homeschooling (starting this fall). I’m trying to gather as much as I can before I get started. It seems a little bit overwhelming but I keep praying that the Lord will guide me and give me direction. Your blog is a definite start! Keep up the awesome post!
