Hi Robin. We are new to this whole scene and some of the fears are overwhelming...now that we are turning it over to God the load is much lighter. I have enjoyed your many pages of info and links, they have been so helpful. We have 5 children ages 2-15 and I am so excited about bringing them home to disciple and train in God's word. The unit studies are a God-send for us! I have so many questions in my brain but I think the most important one I need to ask is could we start with just Adam to Messiah and Wisdom unit studies and some Math thrown in? If I am understanding correctly...the Adam to Messiah can also grant some spelling and Language Arts within the exercises. Is that a silly question?

Thank you for this article ... After the Holiday weekend and the in-laws and their anti-homeschool agenda (pro public school nagging), I needed a gentle reminder that I am ok and doing the right thing.

Robin, I just want to thank you for all the encouragement and resources you provide for us moms (and dads) out here who desire to make disciples of our own children in Jesus' name. I began today my "official" first day of homeschool, though I look back and see God started me on this journey 3 years ago, I just didn't know it! :)

I have been gathering my resources and praying much and have such peace and excitetment in my soul about the great task God has given me and empowered me to do by His Spirit in "building" my house, i.e. training my kids/teaching them. I've been using a complition of ideas and sources, much of them from your writings. And I just wanted to say thanks!!!

Thanks for being such a "workman approved unto God rightly dividing the word of truth..." I desire above all things to plant the seeds of God's word in my children's hearts and be that laborer in His fields in my kids' souls that builds a place for His name!

Thanks so much!!!!

Sheila

My husband and I purchased curriculum for the first time in seven years (we went to a curriculum fair that offered most of the top names and much, much more). The money has always been an issue, but we figured out that it actually costs about $30 per kid for the curriculum we chose. I'm going to start saving this year for next year ;).

Every family and every child is going to be different (and every year may force a change as well). The great thing about homeschooling is that I'm not locked into that decision or I can twist it and tweak it to meet our changing needs.

You are a HUGE part of my relaxed approached. Reading your book and having the website to refresh my thoughts makes each step a little easier to take.
