I purchased The Bible Experience for my 83-year-old Dad for Christmas ’09. He had lost his sight, was unable to read his daily Bible readings, and has since been admitted to a nursing home facility. And of course, one of the CD’s in the set has gone missing. I paid well over $100 for the CD’s and accompanying Bible, so I naturally wanted to replace the missing disc. I contacted the Media Group and I am TERRIBLY disappointed to find they are just as money-hungry as any secular organization. The produce The Bible Experience in one form, but fail to produce replacement CD’s in the same form. I’m missing Disc 40, Psalms 64-88. But I can only replace it by PURCHASING the entire book of Psalms. How convenient for The Media Group. OR, they tell me, I can become a “member” (annual membership fee) and get one disc free. So I have this beautiful set of CD’s, now incomplete, and I can’t make it complete again–for any amount of money. There’s just something terribly wrong about “hawking” God’s Word for money . . . and the money they get is never enough. It’s the way of the world, and The Media Group jumped in, feet first. NO, I won’t recommend this set. Too many other Bibles-on-CD, and God can speak to me without a cast of actors from Hollywood who seem to need more money as well.

Listening to the Bible read by multiple narrators rather than a single one makes it easier to be comprehended and more enjoyable. My copy of the New Testament is from here..

You make a good point, I’ve recently tried to get bible stories onto my ipad. We’ll see how it goes, lol.

I bought the Bible experience and I am not happy with it. It just does’t work. I get no test even though the front of the box clearly states I will see text. At first I was satisfied with just listening to it on my ipod. Later I felt I should be able to read it also. So I tried to delete it and reinstall it. Now it won’t work at all. I feel it was a $70.00 mistake.
