Inspired By … The Bible Experience

I listen to the Bible on my laptop or MP3 player often. When I was recovering from surgery I could not read so I listened to the Bible and sermons on it. Now its become a nightly habit as I fall asleep. I also play it for the children and listen while I clean house. It has been a blessing.

I recently purchased Inspired by..The Bible Experience. This TNIV (Today’s New International Version) is read with a good deal of passion and expression, and there are ambient noises, crowd reactions, etc. Unlike versions of Scripture read by a single narrator this one has different actors reading the words of the different biblical characters. My children enjoy it more than the one narrator version.

Listen to excerpts from The Bible Experience
The Birth of Jesus (4:34)

John Baptizes Jesus (2:30)

Jesus Tempted in the Wilderness (2:17)

Press on Toward the Goal (1:28)

The Sixth Seal (1:18)

It has been hailed as the most ambitious audio presentation of the complete Bible ever produced, and named 2007 Audiobook of the Year by the Audio Publishing Association. “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of a large team of people, from the Inspired By producers to the talented cast and the entire team at Zondervan who brought the product to market,” said Paul Caminiti, vice president and publisher of Bibles for Zondervan. “Our goal with any of our products is to meet people’s spiritual needs, not to win awards, but we are extremely honored and humbled to receive this recognition and are excited to see how God is using this innovative product to engage more people in the Bible.”

”Inspired By… The Bible Experience is available in stores nationwide in CD and MP3 formats as well as audio download. A behind-the-scenes “making of” video, audio samples, news and reviews can be found here.

  1. When I was very ill over a period of 2 years, I too found an audio Bible, audio sermons, and worship CD’s to be ESSENTIAL to my spiritual sustenance and healing.

  2. I love listening to our audio Bibles, we have the NIV recorded by a narrator only, and the Living Bible in a dramatic recording. I am careful though, to use it as a supplement in my study of God’s Word and not the basis. (Although I believe God honours our efforts when we are unable to study the written Bible because of illness or other circumstances.)

  3. We enjoy listening to the Bible on MP3 as we fall asleep too :)
    Here’s a little thingy Hubby wrote about it;

  5. I appreciate you sharing this. I really like coming to your blog to learn new things.

    Blessings.

So how many of you are in the hotel together?

  6. Thanks for your support of the Bible Experience. I am an employee at Zondervan and I was wondering if you were interested in posting a widget that we have on our website. Just go to http://www.zondervan.com/tbe and there is a grey widget on the right-hand side that shows a cover of the product. Just click on “add” and the HTML should display. Thanks! Hope you enjoy listening to the Bible Experience and thanks again for your support!

  7. I WANT TO DOWNLOAD THE COMPLETE BIBLE ONTO AN MP3 PLAYER. CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW MANY GIGS I WOULD NEED? FEEDBACK IS MUCH APPRECIATED

  8. Hi Carmelita. 5.5 Gigabytes roughly would be required for the MP3 versions of The Complete Bible experience. Blessings, Mike

  9. I bought the Bible experience and I am not happy with it. It just does’t work. I get no test even though the front of the box clearly states I will see text. At first I was satisfied with just listening to it on my ipod. Later I felt I should be able to read it also. So I tried to delete it and reinstall it. Now it won’t work at all. I feel it was a $70.00 mistake.
