I am using a few things.
1) a file box with a fliptop lid. Each subject has it’s own hanging file folder
I am thinking of numbering these ( attaching with velcro) and then putting the number chart on the front.
The entire workbook goes in each folder though and child has an assignment page of what to do that day.

2) a small drawer component-has 3 drawers. One for that week’s DVD’s
( we have video lessons) , and the other two are supposed to be for writing, coloring, and cutting utensils.

3) A sterilte shoe box that stores all the DVD’s for the whole year. DD puts away and pulls out what she needs as the weeks/lessons progress.

I have found that the file boxes make it much easier to be portable if we need to go on a road trip. She can just take the whole box… can’t do that with drawers on wheels– I WAS considering the drawers though!

Just curious the name of the shelves you’re using from IKEA. I have an IKEA by my house and would like to check them out.

Check out the Workbox Directory. Several people use files instead. Charts would work as well.

I am wondering if anyone has suggestions as to how I could make this work for me and my 6 children. If I had 12 boxes for each child and for myself, in addition to all our other homeschooling books etc., we would have to add a room onto our house! LOL

I did it! Mine has a preschool twist. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this awesome post. Now doing school saves me time instead of being another thing on our to-do list. My children are always begging me to do school. This article changed my life. )
