As a RN, I don't feel comfortable medicating young girls with this. I feel like telling their parents that I would NEVER give this to my child. With any medicine, there are side effects or worse, death. I pray that it does not become mandatory in all states...what will they do to us parents who refuse???

Yes, I knew it could't be as simple as the commercial would have us believe, which is why I grabbed the information packet at my pediatrician's office to take home and read last year. I don't much care for the vibe I get from the doctors when I tell them my daughter won't be getting the shot. But to think of it becoming mandatory- that's scary. More of our freedom eroding.
Thanks for the great information.
Suzanne

This vaccination was mandatory for all yr 10 girls at school last year. Most h-sers I know of are not having it (us included).

I have done my own research on this vaccination and it just doesn't measure up- the reporting, the disease, everything about it seems 'off'.

but, that's my 2c worth and no doubt it will not be the thought of all Christians or all homeschoolers. Which is why we should have a choice.

Hi Robin! The link ("mandatory for girls in Texas") is broken. I did a search on that site and only found an article stating that "The bills allow information (about HPV) to be distributed" and that "lawmakers appear to have backed off plans to make the immunizations mandatory for sixth grade girls." Could you please check the link? I'd love to read to article. We don't have TV (cable, etc.), so I don't get these kind of updates. Mandatory vaccinations are a major sore spot for me. Thanks, Leinani
