Teaching my oldest son, now 13, to read taught me perseverance like nothing else could! LOL ...well, besides maybe trying to homeschool him and his sister with our new darling baby girl- now a toddler- underfoot 24/7. Yes, *sighs* I'm in need of the Lord's sustaining power and unending grace every. single. day. Homeschooling has truly brought me to my knees like nothing else, in both thanksgiving and supplication. You are so right!

If I didn’t homeschool I would not be on my face each day seeking God and giving Him authority over my heart and mind and over my day. Through homeschooling my four boys God has shown me my striving, my approval seeking ways, my pride. Homeschooling, for me, has been a vehicle for God to get to so many wounded places in my heart that I would not let Him into before.

Homeschooling is a blessing, parenting is a blessing and both are also trials. I’m thankful God has called me to this path so that I could know Him more, so I could see the ONLY way to do life is one day at a time and with complete surrender to Him–He has EVERY answer we’ll ever need for life!
