I’m on a heart monitor for 21 days. My heart is pumping so slow I get dizzzy and short of breath when I stand ir walk. I’m glad they can not see on a read out tape what I am feeling. So I’m in bed or resting quite a lot. I can cook and clean but take lots of breaks.

Comanche, one our horses foundered. Its so sad. I thought I did everything right so this would not happen. I give him shots for pain. I feel so bad for him. He never went down but its obvious it hurts to walk. He will never pull a cart again.

In our homeschool this week…

We are still bed schooling. But I’m enjoying it. I read to them, they read to me (Bible and history). We are studying Exodus. We are learning Latin root words. Both boys  are working on  math, spelling and Spanish on the computer. Its working well.

Next week I hope I have the energy to work on the Passover/ Exodus Lapbook. (Free downloads here)

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

Our horse trainer came over to help me with the Comanche. He’s not saved and God gave a great opportunity for me talk with him. It went really well. Pray for him please.

My hubby is doing all grocery shopping, taking boys to guitar lessons, etc. I’m staying at home except for doctor visits.

My favorite thing this week was…

Listening to the boys practice guitar. I am amazed at how good they sound.

What’s working/not working for us…

HomeschoolAdvantage.com is great for reinforcing facts like countries, presidents, math facts, practicing spelling words, and Spanish.

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have…

The big news this week is the Homeschool controversy between Ken Ham and Peter Enns. I gave my opinion loudly at:

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

I’m working on scrapbook and lapbook kits from bed. I had a ball making the Bumble Bee Picnic Kit and Bee-Attitudes Lapbook Kit.  The Lady Bug Picnic song is still stuck in my head. The colors and patters remind me of Mary Engelbreit work.

Here are a few things in the works.

A few layouts I created for my son and his sons.

  3. Hi Robin ~ I have read your site in the past and enjoyed your journal today. I admire your productivity and positivity even while you are not struggling with your health. Thank you also for the link to the Passover lapbook. We are learning about Moses and the 10 plagues through The Story of the World and this might be something good for us to do as we move on in Exodus.

Thank you for blessing so many people with your site!

    ~Mary

  4. Hi Robin, Thanks for stopping by my blog…and welcome to HMJ! We are in Lakeland :) We’re doing the first half of Exodus this year (1-20) and the second half (21-40) next year…I modified a Precept Upon Precept bible study I had done several years ago. I like all your bee stuff! God bless you as you continue your time of “bed schooling”! ~Melissa

  5. Hey, we bedschool too! lol No, nothing like your situation, we just like to sit on the bed for all schooling. So sorry to hear you’re ailing. Hope the heart monitor helps somehow. I’ll be praying for you. I realize by coming to visit your blog that you wrote one of my favorite go to books ‘What Your Child Needs To Know When’. I recommend it to everyone who asks what they need. Wonderful!

P.S. Love love love the scrapbook kits. Haven’t scrapbooked in years.

Let me know if you’d like to trade blog buttons. I’m game. Have a blessed weekend.

  10. Hello Robin,
Thank you so much for stopping by Homeschool Circus. I’ve been following you on FB for awhile and it’s quite a blessing to have you visit! I pray you are feeling better!!!

  11. I sure they figure out what is bothering you. I hate the feeling of not being to accomplish much because of the way you are feeling. I am having a similar issue. Lots of prayer and hoping our doctor finds something out.

I should try the “bed schooling also”.

I have been reading your books for the past 4 years and thanks to you I am totally into Hebrew roots of our faith. I also first learned about celebrating the feasts from your Biblical Holidays book. AND your Passover Haggadah is our favorite!
