Robin, your homeschooling tips and materials have been such a help to me over the years; while I don't follow the blog (didn't even know you had one), I was browsing around the HOW website and then saw the blog and then the post on Peppy. It caught my attn. since we are in the process of adopting a deaf child, and then we read of Peppy's death. We are sorry for your loss, but please know that your postings on Peppy have really blessed me and my daughter as we read of him and your sweet dedication to him. It is not the same as a person, but your can-do attitude toward Peppy has helped me know that we can do whatever is needed for this child as we lean on the Lord and His provisions of wisdom (like the flashlight); strength (like your sleep-deprived puppy nights); resources (as with the vet bills); and comfort (as your friends have commented and I trust have been a comfort to you in Peppy's passing).

Glad to have been privileged to visit your blog today. Happy New Year!

I am sorry for your loss. I truly believe that we will see our furbabies in heaven. They are all wonderful special creations by God. I feel truly blessed by my 3 furbabies. One of which is 14 1/2 years old & deaf & blind.

Robin,
I am so sorry for this loss. We lost a beloved cat a month ago, so I can maybe understand a little what you feel. A friend of us is pastor and he shared his own theories about pets in Heaven. I think he told something like that: a) Heaven is a perfect place where everything good that God has ever created belongs, animals are good, so there should be animals, too. b) God helds animals responsible for their doings, so they could have soul-like things and those have to go somewhere. I am quite sure that my cat purrs now in the arms of Jesus and your dog is hopping around them.

Hi, this is the first time I've visited your blog. I got here through various links on other blogs. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog. My Great Dane died on December 10th at 5 1/2 years old, and then my Pug died on February 19th at 12 years old. These were two of the hardest days of my life, and I still have moments when I cry for them. But I really believe that God wouldn't put a creature here for us to love and that would show us so much love unless we would be able to see him or her again in heaven. I'll bet your Peppy is running and jumping in heaven with my Duke and Pugs.

Robin,
My heart sank reading your post. Animals are such a blessing...they are brought into our lives for a reason. Peppy was given to you by God to love and cherish however short of time--you did just that. Peppy is looking down on his earthly family and wagging his white tail-he was loved and he knew it. It amazes me how you knew when his time was up and was able to gather the family to say goodbye and console him. I can only pray I will have that chance with one of my 3 Italian Grayhounds when the time comes.
Thinking of you and your family,
Amy

So sorry for your loss. How do they get all the way in under our skin like they do?
We have 2 dogs and 7 goats... even some of the chickens are our favorites!
Jocelyn (who is a goat person, not a chicken person! - or was) saw one of our Rhode Island Red roosters get hit by a car and started bawling and couldn't help get him. I was shocked. I mean, I like the chickens, but I couldn't believe the effect it had on her.
Peppy was so sweet. I am really sorry.
I have thought about getting a GP. I know they are great goat dogs, and most of the ones I know of sleep in the barn with the animals, because they need to learn to be so protective on the animals. They seem like sweet gentle animals.
Blessings and HUGS to all!!
