Thank you so much for sharing. I always struggle with patience. I have improved over the years but it is still a hard thing for me. I am a perfectionist in many areas. I have high expectations of myself and oh, to many times even higher expectations of others. I am so blessed to be in a church where I am being taught by example how to love with patience. Our pastor had a wonderful work today about being hypycritical!!!!! He often encourages us to be righteous in private and we will not lack righteousness in public!!!! Much of my trial in this area has to do with patience. I am often reminded of what Jesus did for me when I "was yet a sinner".

"We deserve death and hell but God gives us pardon. What if God, willing to show his wrath and make his power known, endured with much longsuffering (NIV “great patience”] the vessels of wrath fitted for destruction? Romans 9:22"

When I am reminded of this it helps me to be more patient with everyone.

I intend to make this verse my meditation this week and maybe for many more to come-Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (Romans 12:12.)I believe that focus on living this verse will provide me with much that I need at this time.

As I read and write this evening I am caring for my four grandchildren so my daughter and her husband can have a night out. When asked what he wanted for Christmas, my son-on-law replied that he wanted one night with his wife without any children. Praise God my daughter got on the phone and made arrangements right away. No way I could refuse to help out. She kept it a surprise until just shortly before they brought the children to us. I have had my patience tried this evening, but I see the sweet reward of keeping my focus on loving these little ones, ages 1-6, plus my own 12 year old!!!! They are all in bed asleep now, the baby snoring at my side!!!!!! What joy is found in living according to God's ways.

Thanks, Robin for sharing today.

I just love Christian Preschool Printables! Amen to "God patiently waits for us to grow!" I've been impatient with myself the past week and a half, and it has showed in my attitude and mood. God restored His peace to me yesterday, reminding me of His wonderful grace and process of sanctification. I must admit that in addition to this, I've been stumbling as a result of a bad attitude from an "impatient" loved one. And I am having a really hard time showing God's love and grace. I repent of this attitude right now in the name of Jesus and ask Lord that You would fill me with Your spirit and empower me to extend Your love and grace to my loved one because I desire to please You more than myself. It's not about me! Lord, please forgive me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Patience is a toughy. Tough to learn. As a new believer, way back when, I naively asked the Lord repeatedly for patience. He was faithful! He stretched me out so far. I did not understand that the Lord would not just GIVE patience to me, He would teach it to me.
Never the less, I am glad I went through that then. It was a good thing to learn right off the bat. (Of course, we always need to re-learn our lessons at some point or ge re-tested)
