Free Speech for All Americans Except Christians??

Our boys watch Duck Dynasty. I was happy to find a wholesome show that promotes family and God. The patriarch of the show Phil Robertson was suspended by  A&E becasue he quoted Scripture in a magazine interview.  This is an opportunity to speak up. Free speech is an American right for all–including Christians! Share the photo below and sign the petition at http://istandwithphil.com/. Use the hashtag TeamPhil or #IstandwithPhil .

the reality show star has received a strong show of support from the governor of his state and others. Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal called it a “messed-up situation when Miley Cyrus gets a laugh, and Phil Robertson gets suspended.”

Jesus’ command is to love our neighbors and even our enemies therefore we should never deliberately say or write things designed to provoke others to anger or violence. We don’t excuse unloving behavior by invoking “freedom of speech”. Phil was not unloving. He quoted Scripture in a kind loving way.

Here is an older example where Phil was asked to stop praying in Jesus’ name.

Please read the First Amendment to our Constitution before alleging violations of it. The right to free speech pertains to the relationship between citizens and the government. It has no bearing whatsoever on contract rights between private parties.
