Free Printable Workbox Tags
We use the Workbox System by designed Sue Patrick to structure our school day. Homeschooling is so much easier I almost feel guilty.
Our homeschool day flows without complaints. If you are not familiar with the workbox system see the links at the bottom of this post.

Our children absolutely love moving their workbox cards from workbox to the card. I imagine they get the same sense of accomplishment I get from marking off a checkbox on my “To Do” list. I under-estimated how motivating this simple task has been for them.

There are two ways you can do this. i.e. when they finish they Bible from Box 1 they remove the number “1″ or the Bible tag from the box and place it on their workbox card. (Velcro circles are on the cards to make them removable). Then they move on to the next box.

Use the Workbox Blank Boxes as one 8.5 x 11 page laminated or use as three strips held together by king ring.
My boys do so well knowing what expected of them, they have asked for schedule cards for non-school time! Our 8 year -old is an OCD type so this is something I would expect from him but it was my ten year old that asked me to make him a “routine” page for Saturday and Sunday activities. So I made this third set of tags for non-school time. They use a bank box page and these cards to plan their weekends.
Hey, it counts. Life Skills– Don’t wish someone would have taught you to schedule at age 8?

Workboxes Work for Us
As long as I keep up my end–filling the boxes–our homeschool day flows quick and easy. If I don’t fill up the boxes the night before I have the boys read a loud to me while I fill them in the morning. Eventially I hope to only fill boxes once a week. I have a plan I’ll blog about if it works.
I keep finding ways to cut time. This week I realized I can sweep my family room and dining room while I listen to them read. I put flash cards in the 6th box so they can do them while I am preparing lunch.

Thanks for letting me know about your workbox tags. These will be great with CM.
Thanks Heather. The URL had an extra character. All fixed now.
Thanks for the new tags. I like changing them up a bit. I think I will assign the older two to create some winter ones.
I love your CM tags! And the G.I.Joes – my boys will love that!
I need to see a thread about what to do when the boxes are not working anymore, help!
Hi Robin,
These are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Robin,
I can never thank you enough for how you have encouraged myself and my husband regarding our desired method of homeschooling! We have prayed for direction and the Lord has answered our prayers through Hearts Of Wisdom.
Also, I was searching for a site with tags to use with our new workbox system. I just “happened” to check your blog to see if there were any new posts, and guess what I found, workbox tags! WOOHOOO! LOL.
Thanks for everything that you do! You are truly a HUGE blessing to our family. You have made an eternal impact here, which I believe will continue for generations!
I’ve been reading your posts on organization and using workboxes. I haven’t heard of this system before. It is really interesting and could be the answer I’m looking for! Thank you so much for the many printable downloads. I love your blog!

I love the worbox idea and am starting it with my kindergartener this year. Thanks for the subject tags since these seem a lot more “fun” and attractive than plain numbers.
I’m wondering: you mentioned in your above blog entry that there were two ways to do the workboxes. Then you state one way, but I don’t see where you explain the other. Am I missing something? What is the other way? Just curious…

How do you manage the snack time?
We school down in our basement and kitchen is upstairs. If each child reached their snack time at different parts of the day, I would not be able to supervise.
Do you just use non-crumbly snacks, like bananas or grapes? I would not mind if they chowed down on somethng like a banana while watching their school videos.
I savor, cause I found exactly what I used to be
