Robin, I have a son that learns well with video and I haven’t seen these history videos. This looks really helpful, especially since you have found that your 10 year old is spellbound by the videos. I’m going to check them out for our family.

In my experience, documentary series tend to be far more granular and in-depth than single documentary movies that try to cover everything in one 90 minute film. These documentaries are no exception. Thank you so much for alerting me to these. If it had not been for you, I may have never heard about them.
One other issue issue is that video games usually are serious naturally with the major focus on studying rather than enjoyment. Although, it comes with an entertainment aspect to keep your children engaged, every game will likely be designed to develop a specific expertise or course, such as math concepts or scientific research.
