ssss Eight Links for Spiritual Growth and Encouragement

Join us this Sunday by sharing your favorite links with this Super Simple Spiritual Sunday Meme. I chose 8 links this week for Hanukkah. Share a few (one or a dozen or more) links on your blog and sign Mr. Linky below.

  1. What is Hanukkah?Do you know the history of God’s Temple? Do you know the story of Jesus during Hanukkah? You should! Dr. David Hocking answers What is Hanukkah? You can play this sermon using the mp3 player or download it to play on your local device.
  2. Life in the Spirit – Get a new vision and fresh appreciation for the Spirit’s life and work within you with this free study-guide from Kay Arthur’s Precepts Ministries. Watch the broadcast here. I try to watch Kay every day.
  3. 101 Ways to Deny Self – Free online book discusses the issues of legalism, denying self, how to walk by the Spirit, and more. At the Carried Cross web site you will find several free online books in PDF format for children, for study, for teaching, for exhortation, and evangelism. Save books to your computer first then open with Acrobat.
  4. Interview with Jesus – Inspirational Christian Flash movie.
  5. Persucution.com – Voice of the Martyrs was founded by Jewish believer Rev. Richard Wurmbrand. When I was a teen, Wurmbrand’s books introduced me to the Holocaust and the beginning of my love for the Jewish people.
  6. Bible Maps -Bible atlas which harnesses Google maps.
  7. iLumina Gold Premium – A multimedia Bible for your computer. When I received the iLumina Bible interactive software I was immediately impressed. As I browsed the 3D animations and virtual tours my enthusiasm grew. I recognized this as a wonderful tool to enhance our daily Bible study. My children were equally enthusiastic . Watch the video overviews for details.
  8. Christian Women OnlineCreated to unite women of faith, regardless of our differing ages, our roles as women, or the signs that mark church doors.

You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light, for the fruit of the light consists of all goodness, righteousness and truth. Ephesians 5:8,9

The Carried Cross web site is quite a find-I will spend many hours there as there is much meat to consume. We are a culture looking for the “easy” Christian life, this route certainly isn’t easy, and they make that pretty plain.
    Thanks for sharing

I just read 101 Ways to Deny Self. Very, very convicting and very, very edifying. This is something that should be read often. Excellent.

Happy Hanukkah, Robin! Thanks for all the links. The Carried Cross was an interesting find. I read through some of the articles there, the one Holy Perfume was very good. I had a strange feeling there, though, in general. I hate to use the word ‘feeling’ but for lack of a better one… Did you notice on his home page his remarks about retiring? He used Numbers 8:25 as a basis for his own retirement, but this was being addressed to Moses about the Levites only. Anyway, I know you have the disclaimer about not agreeing with an author’s beliefs, etc., but I thought it was just an interesting point.

    Blessings,
    Lori

Thank you for the links. I depend on you to find goodies on the web for us since I don’t seem to be able to find the kind of gems you come up with!!!!!! So glad you have the knowledge and take the time to do this. I especially like the links this week. Blessings.
