We must also rightly divide the word of truth in order to develop understanding of it with the knowledge that salvation is of grace through faith, and not of our own works of righteousness in the flesh. We must also realize the word of God contains hidden wisdom revealed only to those who have the spirit of God, or eyes to see and ears to hear. God is doing a revival in my heart and it all started with HOWTA, I think. You offered it to me last spring or summer if I would blog about it. I did blog about it, but now on my second reading, God is moving so much in my heart about Hebrew ways and the law. I am so excited about reading my Bible now - it has come alive to me again. I think Christians as a whole do no pray before they read the Bible. A big mistake. I am guilty of not praying every time, too. That is a great book to own.

I actually took a wonderful class by a former pastor of ours who taught a class through this book. I even ordered extra copies few years ago from HOW for the kids when we started doing HOW circ. for school. I highly recomend it and hearing you are rereading it makes me think I should too! I must go pak it for exstended stay oput of town as our youngest gets a bone marrow transplant. I sure wish I had your favorite Chrstmas gift the "Kindle" now! I had received an email from a well known church spewing forth a message of hatred based upon "Biblical truths." At first, I was shocked and then angry. Finally, I felt myself saddened that this whole congregation was being tainted by scripture being used incorrectly. That you for the article and the book recommendations. I know that I am glad for the reminder to make sure that I'm reading properly as I read scripture. It was interesting that you had this posted today.
