Just wanted to share with you that The Old Schoolhouse magazine sent out their weekly email that I think is called Homeschool Minute.

This is what was in today's with a link to click:

Heart of Wisdom is another philosophy I really love. They are offering a free 70 page excerpt from the book The Heart of Wisdom Teaching Approach. This free download includes interesting chapters like Lessons from Exodus and What is Education, What is Wisdom? There are many gems in this free download!

Thanks for linking to my post. I enjoyed reading the other links you provided to other CM blogs. It is always fantastic to read how other families are putting CM to work in their life.

Love you blog,

ChildLightUSA is a great resource, too! They have three magazines with a mixture of new and old articles about this philosophy of education archived online. If you are interested in meeting some Charlotte Mason kindred spirits, the conference is in Boiling Springs, NC from June 11 to June 14.

I am most definately having a 'Monday' issue. My son wanted to read and read and read all morning and I found myself annoyed. But, basically I let him on the condition that he gave me a book report when he finished this afternoon.

voila. Two things solved. 1-my son isn't annoyed that he couldn't finish his book and 2-I still tricked him into doing some writing, which he isn't a fan of.

Now, that's Charlotte Mason to me. :)

books, book and more books.

What I like about Heart of Wisdom is that you, Robin, have done a bulk of the thinking and sifting for the user. Charlotte Mason did, indeed, have some very good ideas in regard to teaching children, but she had a completely humanistic view of the nature of man (rejected the idea that man is totally depraved) and so much of what she has to offer must be thrown by the wayside as rubbish. HOW takes out the meat and spits out the bones of Charlotte Mason's ideas and adds meat from others providing a Biblically-based approach to education. Thanks!
