Signs of Spiritual Abuse & Legalism
How do you tell if your church is slipping legalism or spiritual abuse? Pray for God to open your eyes and examine what you see. Do you see faith in God or dependency on church? Do you see goodness or strict compliance to church mandated convictions?

Why I Don’t Go to Church Anymore!
Letter from Wayne Jacobsen: I do appreciate your concern for me and your willingness to raise issues that have caused you concern. I know the way I relate to the church is a bit unconventional and some even call it dangerous. Believe me, I understand that concern because I used to think that way myself and even taught others to as well.

Breaking the Bondage of Legalism
The curious thing about legalism is that you might look at a legalist and a person walking in grace and at times not be able to tell them apart. They could very well be doing the same exact things. The difference lies not on the outside but on the inside, in the realm of motivation. Why is he or she doing it? We all have a need to come to grips with the scars from our past, to be honest about our brokenness and become vulnerable and learn to grow through pain. We do this by being heard and being understood.

Expectations and Legalism?
“Lower your expectations of earth. This isn’t heaven, so don’t expect it to be.”
~ Max Lucado ~
I attended a seminar in 1975 titled “Give Your Expectations to God.” I learned that you can’t be frustrated with people when you don’t expect anything from them. We choose to be irritated and upset with others. Forgive [...]

Don’t Be Deceived
Someone very close to our family was recently delivered from a very legalistic church.
Much of God’s Word speaks directly to false leadership and deception. We have watched God answer our prayers day by day through the progression of this entire family’s eyes opening to the see the real motives of this wicked pastor–they were deceived [...]
