Blogging With A Purpose Awards

This week I am combining Spiritual Sunday with the Blogging with a Purpose Awards.
Julie from Seeking the Old Paths gave me the “Blogging with a Purpose” Christian award. Thank you, Julie!
The winners of this award are asked to give the award to five more bloggers. Since I share my favorite finds every Sunday I’m giving the awards here on SSSS. Please understand I had a very hard time sharing this award with only five bloggers. I read several great blogs by some very special people – see my Blog Roll for a full list.
Without further ado…(drum roll please)
The Blogging With a Purpose Awards go to:
-
Splashing in the Deep End – Cynthia Rutchi, producer of the radio show Heartbeat of the Home, has a passion for communicating the truths of God’s Word as they apply to everyday life. Her blog posts are full of humor, wit, and inspiration.
-
Bread Crumbs - Jana Rush shares her encouraging thoughts on the true Bread of Life and hopes others will be able to gather a few “crumbs” as a taste of what God has to offer. Jana has a real zeal for reaching people with God’s love and truth.
-
Laced with Grace – (I love the name of this blog) Several special Christian women are on the Laced with Grace blog team. This blog’s daily fulfills its purpose to spread encouragement and inspirational lessons.
-
Mumblings of a Mommy Monk – Heather Cox blogs about God’s word with the desire to share His love and to help others rest in His presence.
-
Get Real – Sharon Houk is an author and speaker who is very passionate about worldviews and how they are affecting our society today. Her blog speaks to those interested in “what really matters in life.”
How do you find and keep up with all these blogs?
I use Blog Bridge (a free RSS Reader). I subscribe to blogs I like and then scroll through a few dozen each day in the blog reader. It’s much like browsing a newspaper for articles of interest. I find new blogs visiting others blog rolls. I rate the blogs with stars. When I’m pressed for time I browse through the 5 stars. I “pin” articles for future use and tag posts with key words for later searches.
See What is RSS and Can it Make My Life Easier?
Upgrading from blog jumping to using an RSS Reader can be compared to cooking in an oven vs. a microwave. It really saves time plus it keeps my information organized. An RSS Reader is a must for info junkies.
