Even though I know I have God's word for direction, I still seem to try to find my own way too often. Maybe not asking directions is just a guy thing spiritually as well.
I wrote of a similar analogy during our last vacation: http://www.seekingabove.com/2008/03/road-trip-lost-before-we-start.html

Dearest Robin,
Thank-you for this timely word. It is a huge reminder in our homeschool yes, and in my family's present life circumstances. It is a beautiful affirmation.
~with a grateful heart,

That is a really fantastic post and I SO need to print this out and keep near me as a reminder. This is my first year homeschooling and it's a challenge because I'm having to learn how to set boundaries and say "No" to others who feel that because I'm homeschooling that I'm "always available to babysit".

I find myself having to explain myself and it is adding to my nervousness about homeschooling for the first time.

I NEEDED to hear this.

Oh! Love the insight about VBS...this is a year of firsts for us and we're volunteering to help out with VBS..so neat to learn more about what this year "theme" is about.

Thanks for sharing the inspiring Word of God. My favorite is Phil 4:19. I'm participating in VBS too.

I am not devout to my religion and I seldom pray…but I always feel better and blessed whenever I read thoughts and sharing like this. It somehow unclogged my heart from doubts and worries and made me realize that there is really Someone up there…

I pray every morning as soon as I wake up. I'm thankful that I don't have to hurry or worry about getting somewhere on time, so I can just spend time with the Lord. Sometimes I feel kind of aimless throughout the day, but at the end of the day I can usually see something God did in our lives that I didn't plan or even realize was happening until later. I love how the Spirit leads!

Thanks for the reminder to keep putting our sail up. Praying without ceasing... that's the only way to live.

Love,
Penney

Thank you Robin,
What an encouragement! Usually just as school is ending I'm beginning to plan next year. I frantically search catalogs, putting together next year's "plan". However, this year as I've submitted completely to God, He has quieted my heart. He doesn't want me to be frantic about anything but instead to trust Him. He created my four boys, He created me, He knows what is best for all of us! Isn't He generous to us! Thank you for the reminder and encouragement. I know others will be encouraged as well but God definitely used your post to reinforce what He's been teaching me each morning!
