Monday Meanderings: Weekly Priorities List

“The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.”–Stephen Covey

\

I found the Monday Meanderings Meme over at the Less of Me– More of Him blog. It’s a meme to help get your priorities in order and plan your week. Tiany suggests making a list in five areas (use her suggestions or choose your own) to outline your week. My hubby and I make daily to do lists so this is right up our alley.

1. Bible Study/ Devotions

  • We’ll be traveling the week so we’ll be listening to CD’s .
  • Bible CD’s: Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Phillipians, Colossians, Thessalonians
  • Dwight Pryor’s CD’s: World Views and Biblical Values, Hearing the Call; Heeding the Commission
  • Praise and worship music
  • I hope to do a word study some time this week on “king” and “trumpet” preparing for Rosh Hashana coming up on the 12th.

2. Must Do

  • Upload Ebook revisions to customer areas.
  • Find a place to live in Nashville (pray for us!).
  • Finish Excel list of houses to see and mark locations of each on the map.
  • Delegate all HOW administration responsibilities to Peggy (Thank God for Peggy!).
  • Get on the road Tuesday.

3. Home Zone

  • Get the house “show ready” for Realtor.
  • Give away all food perishables.
  • Pack.
  • Order extra hay.
  • Leave to do list and vet numbers for house sitter.

4, Train Them Up

  • We need to work on patience, not interrupting, and teasing (one certain individual, who shall remain nameless, needs a LOT of work on teasing).
  • I will consider the 12-hour ride in the car and week in a small hotel room an excellent opportunity to work on these important character traits (she mumbled over and over in the 11th hour).
  • The one who needs work on teasing may have an uncomfortable car ride.

5. Menu Planning

  • Monday. Peaches, strawberries, blueberries, cherries, and yogurt for breakfast (finish off all the fruit). Leftover Swiss steak and noodles for lunch, leftover turkey kielbasa, cabbage, potatoes and carrots for dinner.
  • Tuesday: Fruit salad, toast for breakfast. Fast food on the road.
  • The rest of the week: hotel foods - i.e. bagels, sandwiches, fruit, and fast food salads.

Make a list of your priorities this week, visit Less of Me–More of Him and join in the Monday Meanderings. Sign Mr. Linky and see what others are doing.

I’ll have my laptop with me on the road. I’ll try to pop in with a house hunting update. God bless you and yours.

Seven Encouraging Quotes

“Just as a servant knows that he must first obey his master in all things, so the surrender to an implicit and unquestionable obedience must become the essential characteristic of our lives.”– Andrew Murray

“”Snuggle in God’s arms. When you are hurting, when you feel lonely, left out, let Him cradle you, comfort you, reassure you of His all-sufficient power and love.” –Kay Arthur

“Worry is a cycle of inefficient thoughts whirling around a center of fear.”–Corrie Ten Boom

“You don’t have to be alone in your hurt! Comfort is yours. Joy is an option. And it’s all been made possible by your Saviour. He went without comfort so you might have it. He postponed joy so you might share in it. He willingly chose isolation so you might never be alone in your hurt and sorrow.” –Joni Eareckson Tadam

“We are wrong if we assume that children are too young to enjoy the Bible unless we water it down for them. We don’t know how God’s spirit will work with each child, and we presume too much by keeping scripture from them because of their age.”–Charlotte Mason, Ambleside Online

“If honest of heart and uprightness before God were lacking or if I did not patiently wait on God for instruction, or if I preferred the counsel of my fellow-men to the declarations of the Word of God, I made great mistakes.” –George Mueller

“To every toiling, heavy-laden sinner, Jesus says, ‘Come to me and rest.’ But there are many toiling, heavy-laden believers, too. For them this same invitation is meant. Note well the words of Jesus, if you are heavy-laden with your service, and do not mistake it. It is not, ‘Go, labour on,’ as perhaps you imagine. On the contrary, it is stop, turn back, ‘Come to me and rest.’ Never, never did Christ send a heavy-laden one to work; never, never did He send a hungry one, a weary one, a sick or sorrowing one, away on any service. For such the Bible only says, ‘Come, come, come.’” James Hudson Taylor
